Messe Frankfurt Group: We make markets. Worldwide

With around €609 million sales recorded in 2023, Messe Frankfurt is one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers 
with its own exhibition grounds. The Group has a global network of 28 subsidiaries, more than 50 international sales 
partners, and employs around 2,300 people worldwide. 

Messe Frankfurt has a presence in 180 countries and regions for its customers. Its portfolio of 349 “Made-by-Messe 
Frankfurt” events are held at more than 50 locations around the globe.

Frankfurt has been a renowned trade fair site for around 800 years. In the past, traders and business people would 
meet at the Römer town hall, and later congregated at the new grounds by the Festhalle. Today, the Frankfurt exhibition 
grounds are amongst the largest and most modern in the world; with 11 halls and two congress centres, making up a 
total area of 584,142 square metres in floor space. 

Messe Frankfurt is a publicly owned company. The City of Frankfurt owns 60 percent, while the State of Hesse holds 
40 percent. Every year, Frankfurt plays host to a variety of trade fairs, exhibitions, congresses, events and conferences, 
including leading international flagship events, such as Ambiente, Christmasworld, Creativeworld and Tendence for 
the consumer goods industry. Meanwhile, Heimtextil, Techtextil, Texcare International and Texprocess are part of the 
portfolio of textile fairs, and the Automechanika brand represents the automotive industry. Other technical, leisure and 
entertainment shows include IFFA, ISH, Light + Building and Prolight + Sound. Each of these trade fairs reflects the 
international market for their respective industries.
